OUR PHILOSOPHY
When clients hire CKD they quickly learn that we’re more than just a group of perceptive and meticulous technologists. CKD is a package deal — a team that includes dedicated strategists, designers, and programmers that are committed to each other as much as they are committed to their clients’ missions and tech needs. CKD’s commitment to autonomy, creative freedom, and a social community inspires our team to deepen their expertise, explore complex problems, and work to support each other so that they can succeed individually. And that individual success ultimately leads to our collective success as a company.
WHERE WE COME FROM
Company
Background
CKD was originally founded in 2003 under the brand Commerce Kitchen. Our goal today, under the CKD banner, is the same as it was then: To create a home for creative and intelligent people to thrive, and in doing so, deploy unrelenting creativity and problem solving toward resolving some of the biggest challenges in software and in business. Over our long history, we have collected a vast reservoir of knowledge built on real experience in a multitude of sectors and business contexts. We’ve won multiple awards for both our competence and our culture, with citations that include Healthiest Employers, Best Places to Work five years running, Colorado Companies to Watch, and Small Company of the Year.
THE MOTIVATION
How
We Work
We believe that good work comes from high-performing teams and great work comes from an authentic and empowering culture. CKD is committed to creating a space that supports, encourages, and inspires outrageous thinking and experimentation, but that also expects and tolerates failure. CKD’s progressive business model ensures creative freedom and autonomy for our staff, but we are equally committed to collaboration and teamwork. When we’re looking out for each other, and making sure the whole team is heard and supported, we are able to produce the very best work for our clients.
WHAT SETS US APART
The
Benefits
Employees find that our compensation package is comparable to that of our bigger competitors but lacks the unspoken expectation to produce at an unhealthy pace. We want our staff to be fulfilled! Our onsite wellness coach helps see to that by cooking healthy, delicious meals every day, and offering regular yoga and exercise classes. And because we pride ourselves on hiring the most curious minds in the business, we maintain a solid budget for continuing education. Finally, our “Employee Advisory Fellowship,” is a monthly opportunity for employees to sit in on key strategic and budget reviews, because we want our staff to have a seat at the leadership table.
